Cricket, the national summer game of England, is now played all over the world, including Australia, India, Pakistan, the West Indies and the British Isles.

Cricket is played with bat and ball and involves two competing teams of 11 players each. The field is oval in shape and has a rectangular area in the middle called the pitch, which is 22 yards (20.12 m) by 10 feet (3.04 m) wide.
